Business Sponsorship

First-class opportunities to support the police through sponsorship initiatives.

Our aim is to protect all communities within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight against crime and disorder with the very best in quality service and care, getting it right first time. In the battle against crime everyone has a part to play, not just the police. We need to make our work more visible to help increase public confidence and get the message across that crime does not pay.

By forging working relationships with other organisations we are able to undertake higher profile initiatives which could benefit both parties; initiatives which stimulate public interest and generate publicity through the local printed media, radio, television, and the internet.

Business support

Police forces throughout the UK are now able to accept up to one per cent of their annual budget through sponsorship and other business ventures. This can mean anything from a one-off sponsorship arrangement to long-term business support.

Supporting the police like this can bring benefits which enhance your profile through brand awareness and highlight your corporate social responsibility to the community.

Funding and sponsorship have the potential to deliver innovative and creative solutions to greatly enhance the quality of service we provide by financing projects that we could not otherwise have undertaken. However, we all know that costs of crime are not purely financial. Jointly funded partnerships mean additional resources to fund services and equipment to help us in our daily tasks.

A wealth of opportunity

Victims of crime also suffer fear, injury and illness as well as associated stress - affecting employees, their families and customers. There are many opportunities available, including non-financial support. By involving your organisation you are helping the police to combat crime as well as caring for the welfare of your staff and customers and the community in which they live and work.

We have 3,791 dedicated officers, supported by 2,622 support staff, 345 police community support officers and 439 Special constables (December 2009), but the financial restraints placed on the force make it harder to achieve our goals. We are always looking for new ways of fighting crime and reducing people's fear of crime.

How you can benefit

Sponsoring the police could raise your company's profile. Being seen to help your local community through involvement with a police initiative creates awareness at many levels.

The media always takes a keen interest in initiatives undertaken by the police. We have a professional team of media and marketing experts who could work with you to ensure that you gain maximum benefit from your association with us. However, we are not asking you to pay twice for policing since commercial partnerships are not our main activity. These opportunities are strictly business which could provide you with a tangible but also attractive return.

Your support would be much valued and your potential rewards, in terms of exposure, substantial.
