101 Single Non-Emergency Number

The single non-emergency number (SNEN) 101 was introduced in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight in May 2006 as part of a Home Office initiative to improve community safety.

101 is currently operating in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, the whole of Wales, and Sheffield.

For more information about the 101 service, see the 101 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page.

Initially designed for the reporting of anti-social behaviour issues, in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight 101 can now be called for all non-emergency contact with Hampshire Constabulary. This includes the reporting of crime as well as anti-social behaviour, contacting an officer or a member of staff, and general advice and information.

Calls cost a flat rate of 10p from any landline or mobile phone, and are free of charge from public phone boxes.

For details of the 101 programme from the Home Office please visit the national 101 public web site.
