Monitored alarms
This type of alarm are those which are linked to a recognised alarm receiving centre (ARC) or remote video response centre (RVRC) for CCTV systems that is authorised to pass on the details of alarm activations direct to the police.
Within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, all monitored alarms are given a unique reference number that is specific to the operator and location of the system. Upon receiving a call from an alarm receiving centre, we will endeavour to dispatch a police unit to the property as soon as possible.
Hampshire Constabulary aims to attend monitored alarm activations within 15 minutes.
Monitored alarm systems may only be installed by alarm companies that are accredited by either National Security Inspectorate (NSI) or Security Systems and Alarm Inspection Board (SSAIB) and have been authorised by Hampshire Constabulary.
There is a one off payment to Hampshire Police Authority of £52.18 (including VAT). To register a monitored alarm, however this fee could change so you should check with your alarm provider or Hampshire Constabulary. In addition to this, contracts for a monitored alarm will contain an annual maintenance, call-out and monitoring service charges.
