Picture by Polly Boyles (Year 6) Fryern Junior School,Chandlers Ford This site will give you a few tips on how to protect your home and belongings. Most burglaries are committed by opportunist thieves and two out of ten intruders will enter the property through an open door or window. It is very difficult to make your home totally burglar proof but you can defeat most burglars.Try looking at your home through a burglar’s eyes, look for places they could break in unseen. How strong are the locks on your windows and doors, is your garage or shed locked securely, or are there high fences or hedges surrounding your property which could hide a potential intruder?Take time before leaving your property to check that it is locked and secured and that it is made to look like someone is home.If you would like more details on any of the above issues, please speak to one of our Crime Prevention Officers.
