Landlords - do you know your responsibilities in relation to drug use?

Under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, a landlord/property manager can receive a maximum of 14 years in prison and/or a fine, if they turn a blind eye and allow the production of controlled drugs to take place in rented accommodation. Under this legislation, there is also the potential for premises to be seized or forfeited. Hampshire Constabulary have produced a guide for you to download. 

Crime Reduction Environment Weeks

Crime Reduction Environment Weeks (CREWs) are a new initiative being introduced throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to reduce crime in specific areas, usually where there has been a problem with disorder or anti-social behaviour.

Crimestoppers

Crimestoppers is a charitable trust which provides a facility for members of the public to pass on information about crime anonymously, and possibly earn themselves a reward.

Free Keyholder Registration

For many years Hampshire Constabulary has provided a service to business and domestic residents by recording keyholder details relating to audible alarms. We are now in the process of developing a new and improved process and are inviting new or existing record holders to register their details.

Hampshire Horsewatch

Every year horses and equine equipment worth hundreds of thousands of pounds is stolen in Hampshire. As a response to this problem, Hampshire Constabulary is spearheading a Hampshire Horsewatch scheme in a bid to cut this tide of thefts and heartache for owners of horses.

Hampshire Constabulary Independent Advisory Group (IAG)

An IAG will consist of members of the public, independent from Hampshire Constabulary and acting as “critical advisors”. Membership, through invitation, will be people whose knowledge, experience and background make their participation relevant and appropriate. 

Hate Crime

For the police service to be truly effective and provide an appropriate level of service to the victims of hate crime / hate incidents, it is important that the community has the confidence to report hate crime. This section of our site contains information on what constitutes a Hate Crime, how Hampshire can provide support as well as information on how to report any such incidents.

Hunts

Hampshire Constabulary’s policy on the policing of any suspected illegal hunt is to utilise resources available to effectively gather evidence with a view to submitting the evidence gained to the Crown Prosecution Service for a decision as to whether to prosecute.

Marine Crime Reduction (on the Marine Support Unit pages)

Marine Watch is the Marine Support Unit’s crime reduction initiative. The unit aims to keep regular contact with the Marine communities clubs, associations and professional bodies with regular bulletins and details of stolen boats and property. 

Police Link Officers for Deaf People

Police Link Officers for Deaf people (PLOD) aims to promote equality of access to the police for people who are deaf, deafblind, deafened and hard of hearing in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Priorities include access to information and access to service.

Policing Priority Areas

Policing Priority Areas are designed to bring key community agencies and local authorities together to reduce the fear of crime.

Hampshire Constabulary Welfare Fund

Hampshire Constabulary Welfare Fund is a registered charity providing serving and retired police officers and members of police staff with financial assistance during times of extreme financial hardship.  The charity was established in 1985 and may provide assistance where all other avenues have been explored and refused.
