Assistant Chief Constable (Territorial Operations)

Assistant Chief Constable Laura Nicholson joined Hampshire Constabulary on June 15 2009, with responsibility for the delivery of policing across the force's six geographical operation command units and the Call Management Department.  

ACC Laura NicholsonAssistant Chief Constable (ACC) Laura Nicholson became a police officer in 1987 and has served with the Metropolitan Police Service since that date. Laura has served in various parts of London including Chelsea, Acton, Wandsworth, Hillingdon and Ealing. She has also worked within Professional Standards, dealing with complaints and discipline matters and in the Deputy Commissioner's Office.

Prior to joining Hampshire Constabulary ACC Nicholson was the borough commander for Kingston-upon-Thames. in 2009 ACC Nicholson completed the Strategic Command Course at the Police Staff College, Bramshill and was selected as Hampshire Constabulary’s new Assistant Chief Constable in April.

Laura is originally from Derbyshire and read law at Liverpool Polytechnic. As ACC with Hampshire Constabulary, she holds the Territorial Operations portfolio; responsible for the day to day delivery of the front line policing service to the people of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

ACC Nicholson also has responsibility for the Call Management department, to ensure the the excellent service we strive to give from the first call to its resolution falls within one portfolio.
