Based at Police Headquarters in Winchester, the SOU staff provide a dedicated focus on developing policy for contingency planning across a wide range of emergency planning issues, major and critical incident management.
The policies and practices created are regularly exercised to test preparedness, and the force leads the country in many areas.
Emergency Planning Unit
Hampshire Constabulary has a dedicated Emergency Planning Unit, responsible for developing structures and plans for a major incident response, meeting statutory requirements under legislation and ensuring staff are trained in their role to manage expectations in a major incident. The unit is made up of two police staff - Emergency Planning Officers (EPO's) Greg Snelgrove and Jane Conway.
